Behind the service

The Workshop

When you hire Nick’s Computer Rescue, you’re not getting a guy with a screwdriver and a maybe. You’re getting a real, careful, professional operation. Here’s a look behind it.

The software behind the work

The tools I actually work with, in plain terms — modern, professional, and chosen because they’re the best for you, not the cheapest for me.

AI & Automation

  • Claude + OpenClawA cutting-edge AI assistant I use to work faster and sharper for you.
  • Local AI (Ollama)Private models on my own hardware — AI help without your data leaving the room.

Apple & iCloud

  • iCloud, Mail, Photos, Apple IDFluent in the whole Apple world — setup, sync, and untangling it when it breaks.
  • iPhone & MacCross-platform by default; your Apple gear is right at home.

Security & Privacy

  • 1PasswordProper password management, so you're not reusing the same one everywhere.
  • VPN, firewall & encrypted backupsThe same protections I use myself, set up for you.

Websites & Payments

  • Next.js · Vercel · Cloudflare · GitHubThe modern stack behind fast, secure websites — built and deployed the way the pros do it.
  • StripeReal, secure online payments and invoicing.
  • ResendReliable email that actually reaches the inbox — receipts, contact forms, and updates.

Getting You Found

  • Google Business Profile + AnalyticsShow up on Google Maps and search — and understand who's finding you.
  • Quo — business phone & textA dedicated business line so customers can call or text you directly, anytime.

Every Platform

  • Linux · Windows · macOSAll three under one roof — whatever you run, I've worked on it.
  • Pro dev & media toolsVS Code, Docker, video editing — the real toolkit, not hobbyist stuff.

Main hardware

The gear I work on — and come to you with.

  • obsidian2 — the workstationCustom Linux tower (AMD 6-core, RTX 2060, 32 GB). Where your website gets built, your backups run, and the tools live.
  • 43″ Samsung Smart Monitor (M7 series)A big 4K workspace — room to build your site and keep an eye on the whole job at once.
  • MacBook Air (M1) — the field machineComes to you. Apple-native, so I’m right at home working on your Mac, on-site.
  • iPhone 17 Pro — always connectedKeeps me reachable and everything in sync, wherever the job takes me.

On the bench: mostly Klein Tools and the Milwaukee M18 battery system, with a little Knipex where precision counts — and Harbor Freight when that’s the honest right call. Best tool for the job beats the fanciest one.
